ultra running, high def, and blasts from the past

Did you know there is something called "ultra running"?
I saw this on a friend's facebook profile and I gawked. Seriously? running is not intense enough that there is something called "ultra running".
I'm going to google it right now.

UltraRunning (which is an online resource) is devoted to covering the sport of long distance running, also known as ultramarathoning, or, as we prefer, ultrarunning. How far is "a long distance"? The standard definition is anything past the marathon, or 26.2 miles. However, the shortest standard distance that is considered an ultra is the 50 kilometer distance, or 31.07 miles. Other standard distances are the 50 mile, 100 mile, 100 km, and a series of events that last for specified time periods such as 6 hour, 12 hour, 24 hour, 48 hour, and 6 days.

Do I need to even define what all is wrong with that? that is an illness, really. what is wrong with these people...these runners? what the hell are they running from? gawd.

but moving on.

So I got a new camera for my birthday. Its been really fun to rediscover my eye for photography. I love it! My previous digital camera is over 6 years old and the resolution is crap. This new one...man...its like the first time I looked at trees with my first pair of glasses. The down side is that pictures I take of myself are really scary. really. ugh. I need to do something about that redness, and those pores and those wrinkles and...aaaah. I might take up running just to not have to look at myself in high-def.

I delved deeply into the past thanks to a re-connect with an old friend. I had to go looking for some stuff. I found lots of treasures. Some of which was my old pictures taken with my Olympus back in the old days when we still used FILM. I took some good pictures!! I also found some tshirts we made my soph. or jr. year in HS for Earthday. It had a pretty damn artistic tree drawn on a black shirt with PUFFY PAINT. the tree was bleeding puffy paint and it said "SAVE THE RAINFOREST"

My brain is melting from the trip down memory lane!

I will post pictures soon.
